Once all eight Classes among your Characters have reached level 50, you will receive the Achievement “Dark vs. Light: Alliance Hero” to note that you have completed this objective.

Crafting Virtuoso

To complete the objective “Crafting Virtuoso”, you must take a Dark vs. Light event character and reach maximum skill level (550) with all six Crafting Crew Skills. The six Crafting Crew Skills are:

  • Armormech
  • Armstech
  • Artifice
  • Biochem
  • Cybertech
  • Synthweaving

In order to pick up a Crew Skill, you will want to seek out that specific Crew Skills trainer located in the Strongholds & Crew Skills section of your respective fleet.

Once there, simply talk to the Crew Skill trainer and you will learn that skill. Note that you can only have one Crafting Crew Skill per character.
In order to level up a Crafting Crew Skill, you will need to craft individual items. To do so, open the Crew Skills user interface by press B (by default) or clicking on the Crew Skills icon, located at the top of your screen.
This will bring up a list of all of your currently trained Crew Skills, your skill level, and any available Companions. Located next to the Companions you will see an icon which indicates your available Crew Skills, click that icon.

This will bring up the Crafting: user interface, it is here that will begin crafting items. You can select items to craft using the left side of the interface. On the right you can see the materials that are needed to craft each item. In order to gather crafting materials, you will want to learn the necessary Gathering Crew Skills. You train these in the same way that you learned your Crafting Crew Skill earlier in the guide.
Once you have your Gathering Crew Skill, you can gain materials by either sending your Companions on Gathering Missions, or by harvesting from gathering nodes out in the galaxy.
Now that you have the item you want to craft, and the materials required to make it, simply hit the “Craft” button in the bottom right corner and your chosen Companion will begin crafting. Crafting an item takes time, from a few seconds to several minutes. Once the item is done being crafted you will receive a message on your screen, and the item will be placed in your inventory.

As your Crafting Skill increases, be sure to visit your Trainer to learn new schematics!
Once you have reached skill level 550 with all six Crafting Crew Skills, you will receive the Achievement “Dark vs. Light: Crafting Virtuoso” to note that you have completed this objective.

During a conversation, you may see these icons which indicate that a choice will grant you Dark or Light points, respectively.

As you make these choices, you will accumulate points. As these points increase you will achieve new levels of Dark or Light side alignment. You can check how many points you have earned for each side on your character sheet (C by default) and looking on the left of your character.

Once your Character has made enough Dark side decisions to reach Dark V alignment, you will receive the Achievement “Dark vs. Light: Merciless” to note that you have completed this objective.

The Collector

To complete the objective “The Story Continues”, you must take a Dark vs. Light event character and find five new datacrons which are hidden around the galaxy. Datacrons are meant to be hidden items for you, the galactic explorer to discover, so we don’t want to ruin the fun of the discovery. To ensure that you know what to look for, we will use the new Voss datacron as an example. This datacron can be found in the Desolation Pass on Voss and looks like this:

Your character must discover and interact with all five of the new datacrons, they are located on the following planets:

  • Ilum
  • Makeb
  • Nar Shadaa
  • Oricon
  • Voss

Once your Character has discovered all five datacrons, you will receive the Achievement “Dark vs. Light: The Collector” to note that you have completed this objective.

Big Earner

Big Spender

Start by using your player ship to travel to Odessen. Once you have reached Odessen, head into the Alliance Camps. From there you will want to move on to the Underworld Logistics section of your headquarters. There you will find Gwhirrye Nekor!

Ruthless Efficiency

To complete the objective “Ruthless Efficiency”, you must take a Dark vs. Light event character and unlock the HK-51 Companion. In order to unlock HK-51 your character must be level 50. To start the Mission, begin by heading to Belsavis.

When your ship arrives on Belsavis, you will exit onto the Belsavis Orbital Station. From your ship hangar, head directly to the Belsavis Shuttle located on the other side of the Station. Activating the shuttle will offer you a few different travel options, you will want to select Daily: Section X.

When your shuttle has arrived in Section X, look immediately to the bottom of the ramp in front of you. There you will see a Droid, either G0-A1 for Imperial or B6-31 for Republic, with an available Mission. Speak with that droid to receive the Mission Fatal Errors for Imperial or The Fatality for Republic. Follow this Mission through to completion to unlock HK-51! Separately, if you have previously unlocked HK-51 on another character within your Legacy, you can use the Legacy Unlock feature for HK-51 to complete this objective.

More Info on Rewards

Once you have your Dark vs. Light character, playing through the event is a great way to explore the Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ galaxy. The event rewards and objectives are built into six levels. As you complete each level’s objectives, you will earn amazing rewards including titles, mounts, armor sets, and Force-Bound Dark vs. Light packs.

One special reward will help in progressing your journey through the event. The Victorious Pioneer’s Armor set will provide an amazing 50% Experience Boost when you are wearing the complete set! You will earn the set in three parts, from Legacy Level through Champion Level. Check later in this blog for all of the details on how to unlock the Victorious Pioneer’s Armor set.

One of the big parts of the event is the dark and light decisions that players make throughout the game. We will be tracking each decision made across the galaxy during the event. By the end, players can earn either the Merciless Darth Hexid Companion or the Valiant Master Ranos Companion – depending if the majority of choices were light side or dark side. Note, that only dark and light decisions made during conversations count towards this total.
Before we get into the detailed breakdown, let’s highlight some of the standout rewards you will be earning during the event.

Force-Bound Dark vs. Light Packs
These packs are “best of” packs that are themed around the dark and light sides. Each pack contains two slots. One slot is a “best of” Dark vs. Light item, and the other slot will contain either a Companion Gift or an Experience Boost. Below are just a few examples of what items can be found in the pack:

  • Tulak Hord’s Armor Set
  • Satele Shan’s Armor Set
  • Revan Reborn’s Armor Set
  • Black/Black and White/White Dye
  • MSM J-37 Jetpack
  • Volatile Conqueror’s Lightsaber
  • Cathar Honor Sword
  • Unstable Arbiter’s Lightsaber
  • Two new Weapon Tunings, Dark-attuned and Light-attuned
  • And more!

A few extra details on the packs -the armor sets come in three separate boxes, Upper Body, Lower Body, and Supplementary. Each item that you earn from a Force-Bound Dark vs. Light Pack is Bind on Pickup, so they cannot be sold. However, these items do unlock in collections similar to other pack items.

Victorious Pioneer’s Armor Set
As mentioned before, this armor set is an entirely new type of armor set. If you manage to complete the entire set, you will earn 50% bonus experience boost while wearing it. Unlocking the entire set will require you to complete up to Champion Level. You earn the following pieces at the following Levels:

  • Legacy Level: Helm, Chest, Legs (25% bonus experience)
  • Valiant Level: Belt, Bracer (+15% bonus experience / 40% total)
  • Champion Level: Gloves, Boots (+10% bonus experience / 50% total)

The armor set is a moddable set which can be worn at level 1 and is bound to legacy! That means once you have unlocked the set you can freely move it to other characters in your legacy to help them level faster than ever, allowing you to move even faster through the event.

Darth Hexid and Master Ranos
These two new Companions are embedded into the core of the Dark vs. Light event. As event characters are making dark and light decisions, they are tilting the scales towards Hexis or Ranos – ultimately determining which Companion players can earn at the conclusion of the event.

All Rewards, and Their Delivery
The most important part of any event is when you get your rewards! Let’s review each individual Level, what their rewards are and when you can expect to receive them. Similar to a PvP Ranked Season, many of the rewards are going to come at the end of the event. When reviewing the list below, any reward that is noted with * you will receive at the end of the event later this fall. All other rewards you will earn as soon as you complete the Dark vs. Light level to which the reward is attached.

DarthYunman,

They are not retroactive. They can only be earned with an event character, which is any character created on or after June 28th when the event goes live.

Answer: Each level’s objectives are tracked through the Legacy Achievement system. This means that you must finish the objectives within one Legacy in order to complete them.

There are a few options:

  • Complete the objectives on a different server than the server where you are capped.
  • Purchase additional Character Slots (to make this easier the team is planning to put these on sale at the start of the event)

Many of us no longer have 8 free character slots on our primary legacy server and have no desire to delete high level toons to create throwaway 50s.

Once you have completed the objective by receiving the achievement, that character no longer needs to be active. So you could level to 50 on a character, and then delete it.

Good question! The rewards are delivered in three different methods, depending on the reward:

  • Titles - These are tied to the Achievement and therefore are unlocked for each character in the Legacy.
  • Dark vs. Light Packs and Pioneer Armor Set - These will be delivered via in-game mail to the character who completes the final objective in that event level.
  • End of event Cosmetic Rewards - Things like the Companion and the vehicles will come at the end of the event and will be delivered to every character on the account, similar to the monthly sub rewards.

3) If you unlock HK-51 without running the mission, does that count, or is the mission the only permitted way?

  1. Start at 60 characters do not count. Only level 1 characters will be created as event characters.
  2. Correct, you only need to hit level 50. Class story is not required.
  3. You can use the legacy unlock for HK-51, you do not need to re-complete the mission if you did it before.
